Tutor.com, EBSCO, and AskRI Class Updates

Upgraded Tutor.com Classroom
Tutor.com is to begin rolling out a new, upgraded classroom through September. The streamlined interface will be powered by HTML5, meaning no plugins, and higher compatibility with any computer or mobile device. Please let us know of any feedback on this or any upgrade or feature of Tutor.com by emailing jeremy@askri.org.

EBSCO’s Consumer Health Complete

AskRI’s EBSCO hub has been expanded to included the Consumer Health Complete database. EBSCO’s Consumer Health Complete is “designed for the everyday consumer of health care information. CHC provides convenient access to easily understandable health and medical information. Consumers can search and browse within medical encyclopedias, popular reference books, and magazine articles.” This is a great resource to have with the advent of the Affordable Care Act this fall.

Upcoming AskRI Classes

The AskRI class schedule for the fall is now up on OLIS’s website. We’re offering sessions on how librarians can make use of AskRI’s tools and services, as well as special computer education classes. Privacy, new trends in technology, and organization are the subjects we’ll be discussing across the state in the upcoming months. Database specific lectures will be held this fall as well, and will be announced as they are scheduled.
