Online Privacy Class

On Tuesday, March 11, join AskRI Coordinator and Educator Shane Sher at Rogers Free Library in Bristol to learn about protecting your information and yourself online. Whether you’re worried about identity thieves, the websites themselves, or something larger and more sinister, there are ways to better control what you present and what is seen. Which information is routinely gathered? Where does it go and how is it collected? This class will cover these questions and more, and will teach you what to do with this knowledge. Learn how to best use privacy settings, how to stay aware of issues of privacy and security, and where to find a balance between privacy and convenience.

9:30 – 11:30 at Rogers Free Library in Bristol. Registration required.

Library Legislative Day in Rhode Island

Library Legislative Day is February 11th, from 2:30pm – 4:30pm at the Rhode Island State House. This year’s theme is “Libraries Change Lives,” in an effort to bring the continuously evolving impact of libraries on communities to the forefront of legislators’ hearts and minds as they go in to vote on vital funding issues.

Help support your local library and libraries across the state; tell us how libraries have changed your life!

Please join the Rhode Island Library Association next Tuesday for a chance to share your story,  tweet @rilalibs (and use #RILibrariesChangeLives), call 401-203-READ (7327) or provide feedback via email: president@rilalibraries.org
